Oh Mama-mia - Fried Chicken

Mmmm, yum, yum....my husband's fried chicken and jo-jo's are the best. The chicken is so crispy on the outside, moist and tender on the inside. It is so much better than KFC!!!

We had this as our Chinese New Year's dinner tonight. Being the year of the Ox, all beef products were off the menu this evening. Tomorrow however....hamburgers!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you. To celebrate the festive season, Auntie Edith asked that all the kids dress up in a traditional chinese outfit.

The outfit was originally worn by Andrew in his preschool days. Its nice to be able to compare the two.

Happy B-day

We had a small birthday celebration for Andrew this week as he turned 7. He has been counting down the days and everyday, we were reminded that his big day was coming up. We gave him a choice of what he wanted for dinner, much to our surprize, he wanted a lobster dinner.

He thoroughly enjoyed the lobster, his grand dad's company and of course, the presents.

Child Labour

I was wondering one day how the daycare that Caleb goes to, was able to keep up with the snow that fell during the day. My husband, the night before climbed up onto the roof of Auntie Edith's place and strategically place a hidden camera to find out the secret.

Gee, I think she's looking forward to painting the house this spring!!!! (ha, ha, ha).

The kids had alot of fun!

Loads of Fun

We met Stitch during our visit to Disney today. He was kind enough to pose for a picture with the boys! They had no idea who he is. This was our last day at Disney World, since they had so much fun at Magic Kingdom on Days 1 & 2, they wanted to go see it again.

We had a chance to go into the Buzz Lightyear ride. Caleb was able to zap the aliens and save planet earth.

EPCOT Center

We made it to EPCOT Center the other day. The weather was so, so nice...almost too hot. We certainly are not missing the snow and the rain back home! The boys are in front of the big ball at the entrance to EPCOT Center. It is so big!!!

There was so much to see, we stayed until closing time. By then, the boys were tired and Disney had made another lasting impression on our credit card! By 9:00 pm, Caleb was exhausted but kept saying "I'm not tired, I'm not tired" (immediately following a big yawn). My husband had a nice workout carrying him around throughout the park for half of the day on his shoulders. Caleb was mesmerized by the fireworks and light show that evening.

In the car, no more than 1 minute into the ride back to the hotel, two snoring sounds could be heard from the back seat! It was so funny.

Andrew met this nice couple from New York at Mission-Space. Here he is with Doris and Daniel. He travelled to Mars with them and they helped Andrew pilot the space ship to the big red planet.

I did not mention to Andrew that in 1994, the Rangers beat Vancouver to win the Stanley Cup. We're almost over it!

Orlando 2009

We decided to do what we've wanted to do for awhile, get away to a nice warm place in the middle of winter. We thought the boys would really enjoy a trip to Disney World, it was a no brainer for my husband as he loves the PNE.

We are day five into our adventure. The kids traveled well and were able to endure the five hour flight to our connection and then, the three hour leg to Orlando. Although we would like to take credit on instilling patience by example, the real credit goes to the Nintendo units they got for Christmas.

We have spent three days at Disney so far and the family have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Magic Kingdom was a hit, especially "Tomorrow Land" with the go-carts. Walmart Superstore is huge here, and there is a Nike and GAP outlet just down the road.

Westjet did a wonderful job handling our lost luggage issue (thanks Sonia!!!).
