Anger Management

We were invited to a birthday party last weekend and it had a distinct Mexican theme. The highlight of the event was when the kids had a chance to "hit" the pinata. If you saw how some of the kids loaded up and hit the poor bird, I was surprized a child welfare agency representative didn't arrive to take down all the of the names of those attending this event. There were serious anger management issues (or a good venting of frustration) from the kids. In the end, the bird was sacrificed and its inners guts (albeit candy) was shared by all of us.

Pizza

The other day, at a bus stop near our house, a frozen food company was giving out free pizzas - not these postage size samples you get at Costco, but actual whole pizzas. It was limited to one per person. My husband said that mini vans, packed with parents, kids, cousins, uncles and aunts were driving up, all getting out for this free pizza promotion. There were people lining up twice to get pizza! He couldn't believe it.

My husband calls me up frantically, as if he had won the lottery, telling me to pack up the kids and meet him at the bus stop. I didn't know what to expect...maybe we did win the lottery. Well, getting four frozen pizzas was quite a surprise. Did I mention most of the people getting in line for the pizzas were Asians?!?

Favourite Pic

Thought we would share one of our favourite pictures of Caleb with you. Believe it or not, that's Barak Obama sitting behind him!

Hockey Life

Hockey season is going well for Andrew. Here he is performing a passing drill with one of the coaches. Nice and crisp, and tape-to-tape too!!! He has improved so much since the beginning of the year and enjoys the sport so much.

On the sidelines sit two of Andrew's greatest fans - Caleb and Coco. Coco. however tends to talk too much at the hockey rink and Caleb can't get a word in edge-wise. One solution, as shown in the picture, is for Caleb to hold his mouth shut.

My husband took Andrew to see his first NHL game a few days ago. A package of Dibs, some french fries, a drink and a souvenir later and he was ready to come home. My husband reminded him that he was there to see a hockey game and not to just eat at the restaurant and go home right after the warm-up. After he finished chowing down, he really got into the game and started insisting that my husband join in with the wave and the cheering! He came home all excited and told me that they had had a blast.

Happy Birthday Caleb!!!

We celebrated Caleb's third birthday a few days ago. They grow up so fast don't they. Just the other day we were looking at the various options for preschool, sorting out the clothes that he no longer fits, measuring how tall he is and, being amazed at how he has learnt so much in the past year. Pretty soon he will be in grade school......which means "free time for me" (after I do the dishes and laundry, clean the house, grocery shopping and cook dinner!!!).

The Mystery

Andrew got this real cool water bottle; it's a great way for him to carry his water to school in an enviornmentally friendly way. We looked at the bottle the other day and asked him how it got this mysterious dent.

Funny, he has no recollection what happened. Stay tuned!
