Lahaina

We visited the little town of Lahaina today. It was a nice break after a few days of swimming and hanging around the resort. The town is about a 15-20 minute drive from our hotel. The kids enjoyed a "romantic" meal with an ocean side seat. We then strolled along the walk and positioned ourselves for a wonderful sunset. Great food, great sunset...life is good.

Fun in the Sun

It was a full slate of activities here on our first full day here. When the kids saw the swimming pools and learned of all the activities available to them, there was no jet lag! Andrew was a little sad that school was over but after a dip into the pool.......it was like, what school!?!

We Left Home Without It

Well, after a night of packing and a frantic travel day, we finally made it to Maui. The resort is beautiful and is everything that our good friends Joe and Sandra have raved about. After unpacking, my jaw nearly dropped to the ground....Yes, the travellers cheques are sitting on the kitchen counter at home. Uggggg!!!!!!

Beef Wellington

The beef wellington turned out great the other day. This is a classical dish that my husband prepared for the family, Andrew and I just loved it. Caleb hasn't developed his taste for fine foods yet, his favorite restaurant is still McDonald's.

My neice has grown-up

My niece has grown up. You know that they have gained the status of an adult when they 1) get a job, 2) moved away from home and, 3) start bringing food to the family potluck dinners.
My niece Karen graduated a few years ago and has moved to a foreign country (albeit, still part of the Commonwealth). She sharing details about her boyfriend Morty with us the other night. Some of the stuff was classified but what I can reveal about him without compromising Australian National Security are: 1) he is on a mission to get recipies from other countries for lemon meringe pie, 2) his code name is "Koala-bear", 3) he owns several trench coats, 4) he isn't licensed yet to carry a side arm, but carries a wisk instead, 5) he once served as a body guard for Olivia Newton-John, 6) my niece makes more money than he does, 7) his favorite movie?? "The Body Guard" staring Whitney Houston of course and, 8) being a spy, he's not allowed to have a cell phone.

My two buddies

There are two people whom Andrew simply adores. First is his faithful little brother who will stick by his side through thick and thin. Second is his buddy Isabelle. She is his new love. The parents of "Is" have agreed to split the wedding costs and, agreed to house them after they get married. Caleb no doubt will be their live-in butler.
