We Miss You MMAC Blog!

It has been a while since we posted anything here.  As I read the blog and reminisce about our journey with the boys, I can't help but feel a little sad that we were not able to continually post on our site.  Facebook seems easier to post rants but, in the end, there is nothing like a blog.

The year has gone by quickly.  Since our last posting, we have seen both Andrew and Caleb grow up so much.  I cannot believe they are in grades five and one respectively; it only seems like yesterday that they were babies.

Andrew joined his first team sport just recently.  He's playing soccer with the school team . . . go Sabres!  Caleb is learning chess and is picking it up quite quickly.

The school year started about a month ago and we are slowly but surely getting back into a routine.  My husband really enjoys doing drop-off every morning.  He gets a lot of joy spending that time in the morning going over the day's agenda with Caleb and then reading a book to him before the bell rings.  As always, he is very busy with work and truly treasures this special time.  As for me, I really get a lot of joy picking them up from school for 4 out of the 5 days.  They have such huge, radiant smiles on their faces as they lug heavy backpacks and gym bags.  More often than not, they automatically reach out to hand me their things.  Their "mule" has slowly learned to say, "no, you carry your own things!"  We feel blessed to have boys who generally love to learn at school.  All the very best to everyone during this school year!

Boys Having Fun

The boys had fun skiing on the local mountains during the Christmas break. They spent the afternoon on the slopes and shot this video to show me what I missed.

One Heck of a Surprize

The boys and I surprized my wife by getting her the ultimate gift; a leg of procuitto ham. It is safe to say that she has never received one of these before. When Anders came and presented her with a whole salami the other week, I felt like hitting him over the head with it! For a few minutes Anders and I were on the same wave length or something like that.....funny, I don't remember taking the few teaspoons of MSG that gives you that buzz.

Grouse

The boys had a wonderful day of skiing today, the day before Christmas. There was virtually nobody on the mountain as too many people may have been busy getting those last minute gifts. It gave my hubby a chance to spend some time with the boys.

The boys did have lessons and at the end, they all skied "the Cut" together. They had a great time and left me to run a few errands today among st the crowds. Those that were not skiing were obviously at the malls.

This will be a day they won't forget. Andrew won the race down the hill; Caleb was a close second.

We're Back

Can't belive the year has come and gone. The family has been extremely busy this year and that was oone of the reasons we didn't post. We are also are trying to maintain our facebook account so one social media outlet seemed enough.
This a picture of the boys in Kaui this summer; notice the tan that they got. The weather was great and I have to say that of the islands of Hawaii, so far Kaui seems to be the best. It is so laid back and not yet commercialized.

The food was great too.

The Cool Dudes

The weekend weather was fabulous, well one of the days was great. My hubby did a great job power washing the house and getting it ready for the summer. Once he starts, its hard to get him to stop. The gutters are now cleaned, the BBQ has been scrubbed down and the window are shiny.

The kids were great and they enjoyed their first bike ride of 2011. Caleb has out grown his bike and Andrew needs the seat adjusted. Can't believe they have grown so, so much. The weather so good, the kids had their shorts on and their cool shades!

Saturday Activities

It has been awhile since we last posted. We have been using facebook and it didn't make sense to post there and post here.

We can't belive the summer is just around the corner. School will be finished and the boys will be looking to fill their summer with activities.

We're off to Andria's pig party today! Yum, yum...roast pork!
